The secret is out. The University area – named for its proximity to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC) – is a great place to put down roots, especially if you enjoy being part of the action. Show your 49er pride at a collegiate game at UNCC, hike Reedy Creek District Park with 10 miles of trails or explore the Carolinas flora at UNCC’s Botanical Gardens and greenhouse. Celebrate and get into culture at the annual UNC Charlotte International Festival.
Of course all that nature, exercise and fresh air is going to make you hungry. Don’t worry, University has it covered. Whatever your taste, you’re in luck. Try Vietnamese at Saigon Bay, Caribbean fare at Caribbean Hut, Mediterranean at Le Kabab Grill or raise a glass and dine on pub fare at Flying Saucer Draught Emporium. With all this activity, you’ll be happy to end the day close to home in University.
